OCMI at ATIV Parma: A Conversation on Sustainability

On June 13th, our Sales Manager Christian Ballabio had the pleasure of speaking at a conference organized by ATIV – the Italian Glass Technicians Association – hosted at the University of Parma.

His presentation focused on one of OCMI’s most promising innovations in the field of sustainability: our Mass Flow Technology. Originally developed on our vial forming machines, this advanced solution is now being extended to ampoules and cartridges applications due to its remarkable efficiency.

The system ensures that, while maintaining the same performance, each machine always consumes the minimum amount of resources automatically. This provides major competitive advantages: format changes become fast and easy, simply by loading a new recipe – significantly saving both time and energy.

Unlike traditional systems, Mass Flow Technology uses only gas and oxygen for combustion, removing air from the process and enabling the precise thermal energy required – automatically and with maximum efficiency. This not only reduces waste but also simplifies the operator’s responsibilities.

Another powerful benefit: the system is designed to run on hydrogen instead of gas, paving the way for even more sustainable operations.

A heartfelt thank you to ATIV for the opportunity to share our technological advancements and to highlight OCMI’s ongoing commitment to resource-conscious innovation and sustainability.
